Register today to learn about the latest NVMe-MI applications and new features for NVMe-MI 1.1
BEAVERTON, Ore.,—USA—Nov. 1, 2017—NVM Express, Inc., the organization offering an open collection of NVM Express (NVMe™) specifications and resources on the benefits of non-volatile memory, will provide a complimentary webcast titled The NVMe Management Interface (NVMe-MI) – Learn What’s New on Tuesday, November 7, at 9:00am PDT (12:00pm EDT). Take a deep dive into the NVM Express Management Interface specification, which defines the management architecture and command set for out-of-band interfaces of an NVMe storage device.
“Standardizing NVMe storage device management offers several key benefits in terms of reduced costs and increased adoption,” said Peter Onufryk, NVMe Board Member and NVMe-MI Workgroup Chair. “We are happy to see NVMe-MI adoption picking up, with six devices that passed NVMe-MI compliance and interoperability testing conducted by the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Laboratory at the NVMe Plugfest in May.”
The NVMe-MI webcast will cover how the technology works, the motivation for developing the specification, and which out-of-band interfaces and command set is supports. Attendees will also learn about the new features targeted for the NVMe-MI 1.1 specification, including in-band NVMe-MI, enclosure management and support for new types of NVMe storage devices.
“There is a lot of excitement in the industry right now around the NVMe storage protocol, including the use cases and applications in enterprise data centers,” said Austin Bolen, Vice Chair of the NVMe Management Interface Workgroup. “The NVMe Management Interface is a complement to the standard NVMe protocol, adding the manageability necessary for large enterprises to operate at greater efficiency.”
