How to Join NVM Express
Founded in 2014, NVM Express has grown to an award-winning international community of members who hail from all corners of the globe. With over 100 member companies, NVM Express represents a wide variety of industries and technical specialties. The consortium is responsible for the delivery of impactful specifications developed through a collaborative environment. NVMe technology specifications are designed based on a response to industry need and seek to provide forward-looking solutions.
NVM Express offers three types of membership, Promoter, Contributor and Adopter.
About the Promoter Group:
NVM Express is governed by a Board of Directors, the Promoters, comprised of representatives from 13 NVM Express member companies. Promoters are elected by NVM Express members for a two-year term and are eligible for re-election. All NVM Express member companies are eligible to run for a Promoter position.
For admission in the Promoters Group, a company is required to be officially elected by the Board of Directors along with satisfying all requirements in accordance with the NVMe Bylaws and the Participation Policies.
Promoter Member Benefits:
- The right to select one representative to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Corporation (the “Promoter Board Representative”) for a two year term.
- The right to participate in the exercise of any DGCL Member Voting Rights
- The right to vote on all matters presented to the Members for a vote
- Listed as a Promoter on the Corporation’s web site and in Corporation’s marketing material
- Listed as a Promoter in all press releases, and at all events of the Corporation
- All associated benefits generally afforded to and imposed upon all Contributor and Adopter Members

Contributor Member Benefits:
- Work group participation
- Right to vote as a work group participant
- Right to receive and review Draft Specification
- Right to access ratified Technical Proposals
- Right to participate in the Annual Members meeting
- Right to actively participate in the Corporation’s marketing and promotional activities
at trade shows and other industry events - Right to participate in any logo or certification mark licensing program (“Logo Program”)
- Early access to a Final Specification before it is released to the general public.
Cost: Contributor: $4,000
Adopter Member Benefits:
- Right to access ratified Technical Proposals
- Right to participate in the Annual Members meeting
- Right to actively participate in the Corporation’s marketing and promotional activities
at trade shows and other industry events - Right to participate in any logo or certification mark licensing program (“Logo Program”)
- Early access to a Final Specification before it is released to the general public.
Cost: Adopter: $500
Steps to NVM Express Membership:
1. Please review the following documents:

- NVM Express Antitrust Guidelines
- NVM Express IPR Policy
- NVM Express Policies and Procedures
- NVM Express Code of Conduct
2. Download and complete the NVM Express Participation Agreement.
3. Submit the completed and signed Participation Agreement to NVM Express:
